Confix ‘per-… -an’ forms noun and indicates the result of an action (as opposed to the process) and may also indicate a place or location.
Like the confix ‘pe-… -an’, the confix ‘per-… -an’ also creates an abstract noun (things we cannot touch, see or feel) that indicates the process of performing the action of what the verb refers to. And, not all ‘per- -an’ words come from verbs. Some are noun-based.
